Arcadia Waters Bicton is set in beautifully landscaped grounds with a rich history.The site was originally the private residence of Mr and Mrs Hammersmith, with Hammersmith House being their original home dating back to 1917. The house and land was given to the order of St Joseph’s Nuns and St Joseph’s Hospital was built on the site in 1956.

 

Hammersmith House was beautifully restored as part of the conversion of the site into a retirement village in 1996. Two years later in 1998 Hammersmith House won an award for the high quality of the restoration work which included the commissioning of a spectacular feature fresco which remains evident even today.
