Community

One of the first things you will notice at any Arcadia Waters Village is the warm and friendly smiles of the residents who greet you. Each has their own story to tell about why they chose to live at Arcadia Waters and what they get up to in their spare time. Here are just a few of our residents’ comments:

Kath Winsor

Kath Winsor found that everything she needed was so close to Arcadia Waters she gave her car to her granddaughter, Rebecca, who was learning to drive.

Shirley Cullen

Pictured here with her husband Bob, Shirley Cullen takes most of the photos you see in the Arcadia Waters newsletter and which she helps write and publish.

Bob & Kate Fulton

Bob and Kate Fulton, one of three couples who moved from other retirement communities to a bigger home and the attractive resort lifestyle on offer at Arcadia Waters.

Laurence & Barbara Tigar

Laurence & Barbara Tigar moved to Arcadia Waters from Kalamunda. A keen stained glass enthusiast, Laurence has converted part of his garage into a workshop.

Katherine O’Loughlin

Katherine O’Loughlin is another one of our artistic residents. She designed and created this much admired mosaic wall feature for her courtyard.

Jim and Sybelle

We moved into Arcadia Waters in the middle of 2003 after visiting lots of retirement villages - we knew straight away that Arcadia was the place for us. As keen gardeners, we were attracted to Arcadia because of the good sized houses and gardens.

We organise functions and events for the residents' social club and find this has been a great way to establish a sense of community in what is still a small village. The great thing about the social club is that the activities are there for those who wish to get involved, but there is no pressure on those who wish to lead a quieter life.

Elizabeth

I had lived nearby for many years but felt I needed a change and so I responded to an advertisement and came and had a look at Arcadia Waters. The residents who I spoke to on that day were so friendly and enthusiastic and I could easily imagine moving in to such a welcoming community.

Living on my own, security was always a concern but I have never felt unsafe since I moved here in December 2003. As well as the physical security equipment, the regular patrols from the guard mean I always feel secure in my home.

Trevor and Carla

We moved into Arcadia Waters in December 2003 after long discussions about whether retirement village living was really the right choice for us. After a morning tea with the residents of Arcadia we were convinced!

As well as purely social activities, we love getting together for walks and other energetic pursuits - we love to keep fit and healthy.

Carmel and Malcolm

We are at the younger end of the age spectrum here at Arcadia but have settled in well to the friendly community here. We saw the individual home designs and facades as a real plus - it means everyone here is an individual.

The security here is a real plus as we are keen travellers and like to go away in our caravan and leave our place with the knowledge that everything will be looked after.
